We are so excited to have your child as a camper at GAC this summer. For your benefit, please read the information below before your child arrives at camp.

GAC PARENT INFORMATION & POLICIES

There is a General Store that campers may go to once a day during the afternoon. It carries snacks, drinks, GAC camp shirts, sunglasses, water bottles, and other inexpensive GAC items. If you would like to send money with your child, you may do so. To prevent lost or stolen money, it will be turned into the “camp bank” for your child at check-in. Unused money may be picked up on the last day of camp at the General Store or donated to camp. For snacks and drinks, $30 is a typical amount given. Canned drinks and snacks cost around $2.00 each. Campers are limited to 3 drink/snack items a day.

GENERAL STORE

We will have people directing parking when you arrive at camp. In order for us to get everyone parked in a timely manner, it is important for parents to follow the instructions given at arrival. There are designated places for parking at camp understood by our staff.

PARKING

All camp fees for campers are $725, which includes the $75 registration fee. The registration fee is the cost to register and is non-refundable. You will choose to pay your camp balance of $650 in one or two payments when you register your camper. After you have registered, you will be invoiced for the camp balance.

If you selected to pay your camp in 2 payments, you will have 30 days to pay the first invoice and then another 30 days to pay the second invoice from the time they are sent to you. If you are paying your camp balance in one payment, you will have 60 days to pay the invoice from the time it is sent to you.

CAMP PAYMENT

If you need to cancel your registration, the camp balance of $650 is fully refundable up until April 1st. After April 1st, any cancellation allows for half of the camp balance to be refunded. After May 1st, any cancellation is non-refundable.

Cell Phones-
Cell phones distract campers and do not allow them to experience all that camp has to offer; therefore, no campers are allowed to bring a phone to camp. It is a wonderful time for your camper to experience life without technology and to understand the importance of relishing nature and of building relationships with those around him/her. We want your camper to unplug and enjoy camp. We know that some campers like to take pictures on the last day; therefore, you may bring the phone with you when you pick your camper up so that your camper may take pictures on the last day. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding. You are welcome to call or email the camp office to check on your camper. We will check with his/her counselor and let you know how your camper is doing.

Each counselor is college age and will have received extensive staff training and a background check.

There will be five to seven campers per counselor.

Every effort is made to place your camper in a cabin with other campers your camper can become friends with. The camper’s age, grade, and school are considered. If your child has a bunkmate request, it will be honored if the campers are within 2 grades/years of each other.

If your child is coming without a friend, he/she will make new friends quickly. First day activities are planned to promote friendships of all campers within the cabin.

Every effort is made to ensure that each camper has a positive experience at camp. It is our hope that GAC will be your camper’s favorite week of the summer.

A camp director is on site at all times.

There will be trained medical staff on duty at camp with a camp doctor on call.

Trained lifeguards are on duty during all water activities.

All campers must wear life jackets during lake activities.

Your child will be encouraged to wear sunscreen and to drink plenty of water.

A doctor’s physical and shot records are NOT required.

If a camper should become hurt or seriously ill, the parent will be contacted immediately. In the case of a medical emergency, the parent/guardian of the camper will be responsible for all medical expenses.
